The Pastel Club

The pastel club is a place where you can gather with fellow students and amateur artists to draw and paint with pastels under the guidance of André Rios, a professional pastel artist.

All styles are welcome! From expressive, bold and impressionistic mark making with pastel sticks to hyper-realistic drawing with the pastel pencils, we embrace all of the diversity within the medium of pastels.

Everyone is free to pick their own subjects and André will guide, teach various techniques, give tips and help you improve your skills throughout our group painting sessions.

If you’re new to pastels, want to try out the classes or just have an occasional pastel painting day feel free to join us for a single day session!

Socialize

Gather with fellow artists within a supporting community where you will explore the unique and wonderful medium of pastel with the guidance of André Rios!

Learn

You will have close and personal guidance from André Rios, a professional artist and "pastel expert", so you will never feel lost at whatever level you're currently at and take your skills to another level.

Create

From hyper-realistic pastel drawing with pastel pencils to expressive and impressionistic bold mark making with pastel sticks or panpastel, you are welcome to explore all that pastels have to offer!

Relax

We all experience hard times and stressful situations and art is a great way of relaxing and find relief from our daily stress. So embrace art creation, connect with like minded people and reconnect with your inner self!

Is this your first time with pastels?

Do you need to buy pastels?

For a small fee you will have prepared a nice set of pastels that you can use in the class. Later on if you feel this is the right medium for you and you like the classes we will help you find the right supplies so you can start your journey with the colored dust!

Do you already have a set of pastels?

That's great! Feel free to bring your own pastels, paper and tools.

Do you want to bring your own reference photo or do you want us to prepare a subject for you?

If you're just starting up and don't know what you want to paint/draw, we can help you with that!

Ask in your message for a specific theme or a surprise subject and we will have it prepared for you. If you already know what you want to create please bring your high quality reference photo and a simple black&white photocopy of your reference.
